Every child is born an artist. We built a world that trains it out of them — right when it became the one thing a machine cannot replace. This is a movement to put first things first.
A child at five scores at genius level for original thinking. By fifteen, roughly one in eight. As adults, almost none of us do.
This is not what nature does. It is what schooling does. Creativity is not a gift handed to a lucky few — it is a universal inheritance that a decade of formal education quietly spends. We are not running out of creative children. We are teaching it out of them.
A machine can now execute almost anything. It cannot originate a single thing that matters.
AI can write, draw, compose, and code on command. What it cannot do is feel something and choose how to say it, hold a point of view rooted in a life actually lived, or decide what is worth making at all. As the machine absorbs the execution, the human work that remains is the creative work — and it is built, or lost, in childhood.
So we put first things first. Art before algorithm. Music before AI.
Not against technology — ahead of it. In the sequence a human life actually needs. Before a child learns to prompt a model, let them learn to make something no model could have made. Give them the voice first. The tools will always be there.
And start where it matters most: the earliest years.
This is where the decline is steepest and the window widest — where drawing, music, movement, and play build the very capacities all later learning draws on. Every other reform arrives too late to do this work. This one cannot wait.
